I had this on vinyl, well some of it. It amazed me to see Comes a Time so early as I"d only known it from Reflections which came out in 76. The one song though that is the show stopper is unsuspecting (and unknown; no one other than those who heard this tape early on even know about it). Track 6, "I washed my hands in muddy water". The funny thing is I remember this poster which was full of tiny scenes of Dead songs, and there was a Jerry-esque character washing his hands. This is the only time they or Jerry solo for that matter that I can find ever played this. Still, it's fairly perfect in all forms and I just wonder why it never made it further. It remains one of my favorite's. There is this guitar player from a Phoenix AZ Dead band that played it for me once; he's now playing guitar with Melvin Seals and JGB for that matter. He, the guitar player I can't think of the name of right now, also knew Vince Welnick well and told me I looked just like him. Keep grooving and thanks so much for this wonderful place to go and archive about.
