Notes:
Around August, 2001, when I put a digital copy of this show
(shnid=6019) into circulation, a trading partner sent me a
DAT containing a copy sourced off the same AUD master. At
the time, this DAT copy's caveats led me to the conclusion
to only circulate the known first gen reel transfer I
performed in 2001.

I recently pulled this DAT out, and upon listening decided it
was worth circulating despite some of the tapes issues. Given
the spirit and completeness of the online archival community,
it seemed appropriate to "add this to the pile" while I am as
confident as I can be that the true master recording is yet to
be "unearthed." Whether one deems this an upgrade, downgrade,
or sidegrade is open to debate. For me, I know that I will
continue to pull this version out when I want to revisit this
personal favorite show. That was enough reason for me to risk
"polluting the gene pool" a little bit.

This is the same master recording as shinid=6019. The tape
had all the exact same cuts and flips requiring repair. I
chose to re-perform the cross fades, rather than introduce
what were, in my opinion, more disruptive SBD patches.

The Caveats: This entire tape sounds like there was some
analog noise reduction applied at some point, followed by the
tape being run with the Dolby off and on again, perhaps while
going to DAT. That said, this low gen copy has a fantastic
spectrum of high and low end, beautifully upgrading the one
disappointment in the current circulating copy of the same
recording - muted high end.

Someday, when the true master tape itself is found and
circulated, this recording will likely claim the crown of
being the best audience tape from 1973.
